We offer VW convertible tops for the classic VW Beetle (VW bugs), VW Karmann Ghia, VW Rabbit, VW Cabriolet, VW Thing and the lateer model VW Cabrios and the new Volkswagen Beetle. We also offer Restoration Package Specials for convertible top do-it-yourself installation, which include everything you need (top cables for holding the convertible top to the body, padding between the convertible top and the headliner or under the top) to install your VW replacement soft top.

VW Convertible Top Fabrics:

Our VW tops are made by a German replacement-top specialist, and they have been installed in many prize-winning convertible restorations. Volkswagen soft tops come in the fabric original to your Volkswagen convertible. Depending on year and model this can be Haartz pinpoint vinyl or stayfast canvas. Haartz pinpoint vinyl is the original Volkswagen fabric on earlier Beetle and Karmann Ghis convertible tops. Canvas was original to some and is an alternative convertible top choice. German Sonnenland canvas is original to the new Volkswagen Beetle convertible tops.

The air cooled Volkswagen Rabbits and Cabriolets were introduced in 1979 and manufactured until 1994. The earliest Rabbit convertible tops were pinpoint vinyl but the modern Cabrio vinyl was introduced in 1984 and is the usual fabric for VW Rabbits and VW Cabriolet convertible tops for all years. This gives the earlier Rabit convertible tops the original rain guides built into the 1984 and later Volkswagen Cabriolet convertible top.

Volkswagen changed the design again in 1995 and there were other Cabriolet and Cabrio models in the VW line right up to the latest Volkswagen convertible models.

Our manuals are more tutorial and elaborate in nature providing the first time convertible top installer good instruction.
