Tacking into the bow over the windshield (header bow) and into the bow over the rear window (rear top bow) is done into special strips embedded in these frame bows. Original Patterns:
These tops are made using original dealer patterns which have been stored in computer directed cutting files. They are not "copies of copies."

Fabrics:
All original Edsel dealer tops were made with pinpoint vinyl fabric. We offer the Haartz pinpoint vinyl top replacements.

Do-It-Yourself Installation:
If you are comfortable renting and using an air driven staple gun then you are a candidate for do-it-yourself installation. Stapling and gluing are required; there is no sewing. You may read the summary of our classic two part top install manual via the link below to acquaint yourself with the processes.

Pads:
The pads, under the top, build out the top and also align the frame bows to which they are attached. Pads can last through two tops.

Tack Strips:
Tack strips embedded in the header (front) and rear top bows receive the attachment staples. Tack strips can last through two tops.

Boots:
The top boot (which holds the top when it is down) is an option. We can supply replacement boots which attach as originally. We recommend selecting a boot in modern boot vinyl which has a slight flexibility making it much easier to utilize than a boot made of topping fabric. Select a color to match or offset your paint job or your interior colors.
